What do you think causes some people to give up and stop trying? Do you ever do that? Why, or why not?
Today's Work Force requires more skills and education than ever before. Yet, 3 out of 10 students drop out of high school without obtaining these skills (4 out of 10 Hispanic & African American).
1). What profession would you like to work in when you grow up, and what type of education do you need to obtain that job? (Do not list professional athlete, singer, actor, or other long-shot dreams). 2). If you were principal of this school, what specific steps would you take to keep students from dropping out? 3). What was the most challenging experience you ever had in school? What did you do to persevere through this experience? 4). What are the top 3 reasons high school students drop out? 5). How would your parents respond if you wanted to drop out of school to take on a job that paid $25,000/year? Respond to the following questions in a response long enough to get full points.
1). If you knew you only had a few months to live, would you tell everyone...or just a few people. Why? Explain. 2) Would you choose to live your life "normally" or would you "go out with a bang" and seek adventure? Why? 3).What would you want to accomplish in those short few months? (What are 4-5 things on your bucket list?) 4). Why did this college professor give this speech to his class? If you were in his shoes, would you have done the same? Why? 5). What are two things you can take away from listening to this speech? Please respond to the following statement in a paragraph: "If I try hard and don’t succeed, it’s not my fault." Do you agree, or disagree? Why?
This weekend marks the 10th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Many of you are probably too young to remember what exactly happened, and I want to know what you know....
Please type as much about what you know about this event in history, along with anyone you think that may have ended up as a leader regarding this event- either as a good or bad leader(s), along as why you see these people as leaders.... Congratulations! You have successfully completed your first assignment in class! (That was simple...you just had to get here!) Always remember, if at first you don't succeed...keep trying. Most people become successful immediately after they quit something. Too bad you'll never know when that is if you don't persist and keep trying.
Now, in order for you to let me know you've made it...here is your first "real" assignment. Post a reply telling the class about yourself. This will help us get to know one another and function as a team throughout the semester! Tell us your hobbies, likes/dislikes in the world of being a teenager and especially about your interest in the subject of this class! Have fun! Oh, and remember to check back to read about your fellow classmates. My goal for this blog is to allow students in Ag. classes have open discussions on a wide variety of topics pertaining to class material. Remember to respect the opinions of others and feel free to voice your own opinions. School appropriate responses are a must as these blog assignments will be graded! Have fun and enjoy your chance to integrate some more technology into your ag. class! |
